Equality Texas and partners host the Power Summit at the Texas Capitol, a day of training on how the legislative session works and when it starts, how to find your way around the Capitol, how to engage with legislators and the media, how to testify, how to stay safe, and which bills may come up in Texas and how to fight them together.
The day opens with breakfast and a plenary with a state-of-the-state briefing and safety training. It continues with communications and testimony trainings, a mock committee hearing, an immigration and reproductive rights workshop and a closing panel. Admission is free, but you must RSVP to get in, and applications close Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 6 p.m. Parking is available in the Capitol Visitor Garage, and spots are limited.

Equality Texas y sus aliados presentan el Power Summit en el Texas Capitol, un día de capacitación sobre cómo funciona la sesión legislativa y cuándo empieza, cómo moverse dentro del Capitolio, cómo hablar con legisladores y con los medios, cómo testificar, cómo mantenerse a salvo y qué proyectos de ley podrían llegar a Texas y cómo enfrentarlos juntos.
El día empieza con desayuno y una sesión plenaria con un informe sobre la situación del estado y capacitación de seguridad. Siguen capacitaciones de comunicación y de testimonio, una audiencia de comité simulada, un taller sobre inmigración y derechos reproductivos, y un panel de cierre. La entrada es gratis, pero hay que hacer RSVP para poder entrar, y las solicitudes cierran el miércoles 30 de septiembre a las 6 p.m. Hay estacionamiento en el Capitol Visitor Garage, con lugares limitados.
