The Big (Gay) Give — 24 Hours for the Nonprofits That Hold Us Up

Make it a Big GAY Give. 💜🏳️‍🌈

The Big Give — the 24-hour online giving day for South Texas nonprofits, organized by The Nonprofit Council — runs from 6 PM Wednesday, September 23 to 6 PM Thursday, September 24. One day, thousands of gifts, all of it staying local.

Our ask is simple, wherever you are in Texas: make yours a gay one. The queer nonprofits in your city — the ones testing, feeding, housing, defending, mentoring, and celebrating this community — run on thin budgets and big hearts. A giving day is when small gifts stack into real money.

How to show up:

• 💻 If your org is in the Big Give: find them at thebiggivesa.org and give during the 24-hour window
• 💜 If they’re not: give directly through their website — the day is a reminder, not a requirement
• 📣 No budget this month? Share their campaigns, volunteer, show up. That counts too.

Start with the organizations in our directory — OUT Youth, allgo, Equality Texas, PFLAG Austin, Embrace Austin — or the queer nonprofit doing the work on your block. (Austin’s own giving day, Amplify Austin, comes back around in the spring — but the orgs need us year-round.)
