Mayahuel Matriarchs

Mayahuel Matriarchs is an Austin grassroots collective at the intersection of indigenous identity, queerness, and feminism. Named for Mayahuel, the Aztec goddess of the maguey plant and a symbol of fertility and abundance, the collective honors ancestral traditions while building contemporary community through organizing, cultural events, and healing-centered spaces. The group operates within Austin’s broader LGBTQ+ and Latinx community ecosystem.
